Overall Rank By The SMRC: 98.5/100
Recommendations: Must Have
I recently went out to purchase the long awaited Super Mario Kart: Super Circuit game at my local video game store. I got home expecting the worse, but hoping for the best.
The first thing that caught my eye was the amazing graphics. The game uses a wide area of bright colors and 3d sprites to produce an almost N64 like graphic system.
Next up was the music and sound. It was the normal standard I guess you could say for Nintendo games. The biggest thing in sound that caught me off guard however was the voices of the characters. You could actually here them much like the N64 version.
Finally I was on the track, ready to leave all my opponents in the dust. I found that the normal startup boost was back, along with a few new features. The game however seemed to have a different play control then what I was used to. Although not bad, it did take a race or two to get used to the semi-3d play control.
The game has given me well over 40 hours of gameplay with its 20 tracks plus the 20 orignals from the SNES version of Mario Kart. I have also found it challenging to try to get a rank "A" on every race.
Multiplayer also rocks. I was glad to see Nintendo could bring battle mode to the GBA. I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoyed the original Mario Karts and who is looking for wonder and fun game for their GBA.
